Episode 102 has dropped! Listen now then come back here to discuss.
We have a family google calendar that I have notifications going to a gmail address. If I switch the email address to my fastmail account, will that mess things up with the family calendar? I set up the family calendar initially, so will that mess up the way the rest of my family accesses the calendar?
It sounds like you don’t want anything to change for anybody but you. Is the idea that you don’t have to check your gmail to see those notifications? You could definitely have just those emails forwarded to your Fastmail account.
Or, you could subscribe to the calendar with your Fastmail account to get notifications there. You would need to use the google account to make changes, but you could see the calendar and get notifications with your Fastmail account.
There’s other options, but I’m going to stop rambling with that, because I’m really just guessing and trying to understand what you want to accomplish and how you envision it working.
I will say this - I don’t think there’s much chance of you accidentally breaking it. So you could try exploring what you’re trying to do and see what happens, and check back in with me if there’s ever a step that seems like you might break something.
Let me know.
